Doug Burns just bloged about this here.

It seems that everyone started to noticing this change in their environments.

  1. RAT is a separate option, therefore it requires a license to be purchased.

The Oracle Real Application Testing option includes the following features:

    - Database Replay
    - SQL Performance Analyzer (SPA)
    - SQL Tuning Sets (STS)

In order to use the features listed above, you must purchase licenses for the Oracle Real Application Testing option, with one exception: SQL Tuning Sets (STS) can be used if you have licensed either the Tuning Pack or Oracle Real Application Testing.

  3. I think it probably costs extra on both the capture and replay instance but isn't included in the 10g documentation (yet). I blogged about it here.
